The most common repetitive motion injuries are Tendinitis (inflammation of a tendon) and Bursitis (inflammation of a Bursa). These injuries may develop near any joint though are most common in the knees, hips, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.

Typical symptoms of repetitive motion injuries are;Pain and swelling, numbness or tingling, limited range of motion or movement. When establishing the diagnosis the doctor pays particular attention to the personal history of work, recreational, and other activities the individual performs on a regular basis. Diagnostic imaging procedures are usually not necessary.

Feel your hamstrings tight and have lower back pain? But how do you know if you have tight hamstring? The hamstring muscles run along the back of your thighs to behind your knees. They connect to the bottom of your pelvis.

If your hamstrings are tight, you will probably notice a consistent, downward, pull on your pelvis. And because the pelvis is the foundation of your lower back and spine, tight hamstring muscles contribute to lower back instability. This instability, in turn, can lead to greater risk of intermittent strains.

A simple way to check to see if you have short or tight hamstring muscles is to lie flat on your back and have someone help you slowly raise one leg, making sure that your leg is completely relaxed. Do not lift the leg with your own muscles. Generally, if your leg can be raised to 90 degrees angle from the ground straight up toward the ceiling, without any major tightness along the hamstrings, then you are fine. But if you start to feel tightness before reaching 90 degrees, it is a good sign that you need to pay attention and stretch your hamstrings often to relieve the tightness or pain.

Wow, I wish I could say it lasted only for a few days and then it was all over and everything was back to the old days of eating what you wanted, working out for a short period of time and not putting on weight. But as I think you have already worked out this is not the case (Most of the time).

The question of "How Long Does Menopause Last?" must be one of the more common questions your local doctor gets asked. So I have decided to do a bit of research and find out what the world has to contribute on this matter.

From my hours of research on the net(and I mean hours) I have come to a few conclusions. The first one is that Menopause is such an individual happening that it does not follow an exact rhyme or reason to when it starts or when it stops. For example a lady over in New Zealand gave birth at 63. If we followed a set ruling about when menopause would happen this would not have been the case.

Losing Weight Healthily

Losing weight is a difficult thing to achieve especially if like me, you like your food. My advice to concentrate on 3 key factors: diet, exercise and drinking water. It might seem obvious but these three things WILL make you lose weight. Fad diets DON'T work; you end up piling on any lost weight very quickly which lowers your self-esteem making you eat more!

The only way to lose weight is to do it gradually and healthily over a period of time. You also need to tailor your diet and exercise to your personal regime. If you weigh 13 stone, exercise and eat fairly healthily but aren't losing weight then this could be caused by: a.) Eating too much bad food b.) Not exercising enough.

If this is the case, identify the problem and fix it. Just because you go to the gym twice a week for an hour each time doesn't mean you can eat whatever you like for the rest of the week. Up your exercise to three or four times a week and cut down on the sugary and salty foods and you'll very quickly see a difference. Any movement helps so try walking to work, swimming, running, and the gym or dance/fitness classes. Combine this with 8 pints of water a day and you'll not only look better but you'll feel much better too. Incorporate fruit, vegetables, pulses, rice, fish, chicken a little red meat and oats into your diet. It's best to get a range of different coloured fruits and vegetables as they all contain different vitamins and minerals. Wheatgerm can lower cholesterol so sprinkle it on top of your cereal or into yoghurt. Remember when eating meals to reduce the amount of food you eat a little. A little change in diet can have a dramatic change to your waistline.
